Dr. Alicia Nails is a 1999 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Upon graduating dental school, she began practicing family dentistry in Decatur, Alabama, first as an associate and then successfully establishing her own practice in 2002.
Dr. Nails is a member of the American Dental Association and the Wilson-Chenault Study Club. She enjoys playing tennis and reading. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Morgan County (past president) and the current president of the Board of Directors of the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. Dr. Nails also sits on the executive board of the Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation.
A native of Moulton, Alabama, she is married to Jeremy Nails, the President of the Morgan County Economic Development Association. They have one child, Addie Lu. The Nails family loves to travel together and especially enjoy seeking out new places to visit.
Dr. Glen Smith grew up in Decatur, AL. Graduating from Decatur High School in 1975. Dr. Smith is a 1979 graduate of the University of Alabama, Huntsville with a BS in bio chemistry. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1984. After graduating dental school, he established his own practice in Decatur, Alabama.
In 1991 he was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). The AGD awards this honor to its members who successfully complete extensive continuing education requirements (a minimum off 500 continuing education credit hours) and a comprehensive examination. He obtained his Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) Board Certified American Board of General Dentistry in 2002.
Dr. Smith is married to Cecilia Brown Smith. He enjoys walking the Point Mallard Trail, cooking, playing his guitar and singing.
Working more than 40 years in the dental profession, Cindy has had the opportunity to operate in the capacity of manager, consultant, and as a dental software trainer. She originally joined Decatur Family Dentistry when Dr. Nails established her own practice in 2002 and after being a valued team member for 5 years moved on to manage a multi dental office practice in Jefferson County. Now, after years of working outside of Decatur, she is 'back home'. As the business manager here in our practice she oversees the day to day functions of the office as well as works closely with the staff and patients to provide the ultimate dental care.
Cindy and her husband Murray have four children and four grandchildren. When she isn't devoting her time to the better of our office, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially playing with her granddaughter Hanley, watching her grandson Wade play baseball, grandson Toby doing taekwondo and spoiling the latest grandson Owen.
Nona has been a dedicated professional in the dental profession for 37 years. In 2002 she joined Decatur Family Dentistry when Dr. Nails established her own practice. As a committed and important asset to her profession, along with her caring and cheerful nature, she has developed enduring relationships with many of her patients.
Nona and her husband Donnie have two children. Daughter Brittney is a graduate of UAB Dental School, and son Grant is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Computer Science Engineering. She is a member of Fairhaven Church of Christ. Nona enjoys spending time with family, being at the beach, shopping and Alabama football.
With over 40 years of experience in the dental profession, Linda has a unique and valuable understanding of her patients needs and concerns. Her caring and gentle personality gives her the special ability to assist individuals in feeling relaxed and informed. She has an undeniable dedication to her profession. Joining Decatur Family Dentistry in 2002 when Dr. Nails established her own practice, Linda is loyal, professional and keeps her patients interests as her top priority.
Linda has two sons, Chris and Jason, and five grandchildren. She spends much of her time with her family and also enjoys shopping and relaxing at the beach.
Abby joined Decatur Family Dentistry in August 2020. She is an honors graduate of Wallace State Community College, with an Associates Degree in Applied Science.
Her passion is helping her patients to improve their oral health. With her caring and compassionate personality, she is an excellent asset to our practice.
She married her high school sweetheart Chris April 2021. During her free time, she enjoys camping and spending time with her family.
Having been in the dental profession for more than 30 years, Dorothy joined Decatur Family Dentistry in January 2008 and is a full time dental assistant for Dr. Nails. She is tirelessly dedicated in providing patients a relaxed and comfortable environment to assure they have the most positive dental experience possible.
Together Dorothy and her husband, Bruce, have four children: Thomas. Jessica, Trent, and Rachel, five grandchildren: Gracie, Brennon, Bradley, Jaycie, and Lila, as well as three granddogs: Jag, Una, and Athena. Along with spending time with her family, Dorothy enjoys camping, hiking, bike riding, and visiting the beach.
Emma joined our team in February 2021. She is a 2017 graduate of the North Alabama Dental Assisting Program. She is dedicated to making our patients welcome and comfortable in our office.
She and her husband Blaine have a dog named Phillip and Tigger the cat.
When Emma is not working timelessly at Decatur Family Dentistry, she enjoys music with her husband, outdoors and cooking.
Diana joined our team in May 2021 and has been working in the dental field since 2018.
With her wonderful friendly smile and bubbly personality she is ready to greet you with a warm welcome and help take are of your scheduling needs.
In her free time Diana loves painting art, watching movies and spending time with her family.
